1. Identify the sample
Record the sample reference, product model, paper grade, colour, dimensions and date received. Photograph the sample beside a ruler; use the same reference on your feedback and retained sample.
2. Check liner and sheet fit
For air fryer liners, record base diameter or base length × width, plus height in cm. Compare the formed sample with the basket's internal base and usable height; follow the appliance instructions.
A listed 16 × 16 × 4.5 cm square liner means base length × base width × height, not the opening size. The opening is wider than the base.
For baking paper, record sheet length × width in cm or roll width in cm and length in m. Trial the intended food and process; note temperature in °C, contact time in minutes, release and visible changes.
3. Compare coffee filters in the same setup
Record the filter model and brewer or holder. For a repeatable comparison, keep the coffee, dose (g), water volume (ml), temperature (°C), grind and pouring method consistent; record total brew time (minutes/seconds) and observations.
For basket filters, 200/80 means a 200 mm laid-flat diameter and an 80 mm base diameter. Check both measurements against your basket.
4. Review the product and packaging separately
Count pieces in the proposed pack and check opening, labels and agreed artwork. For air fryer liner clamshells, branding uses an insert card or label; the clamshell itself is not printed. Keep product and packaging approvals separate.
5. Match the documentation to the sample
Match the test summary to the selected paper grade, colour and product scope. Record the test institution, standard, date and submitted sample. A fit or brew trial is not a food-contact test; check the relevant material documentation for your destination market.
6. Save a clear approval record
- Sample reference and specification, including measurement units.
- Equipment, food or coffee, trial conditions and observations.
- Accepted pack count, artwork version and outstanding changes.
- Approval date and exact configuration to use for the quotation.
Sample approval questions
Are stock-size samples free?
Samples from stock sizes are free; the buyer pays courier charges. Include the product, model, colour and delivery destination in your sample request.
What should I send if a sample does not fit?
Send the sample reference, equipment model, measured internal dimensions with units, and a photograph showing the fit issue. State which dimension or feature needs to change before approving the configuration.
